REVAMPED is now on sale!

It's here! It's here! After waiting for so long, my full-length contemporary paranormal romance Revamped is finally released. The book is about a vampire with obsessive-compulsive disorder and a psychiatrist who doesn't believe him or that she's the key to helping him keep the dead from walking the earth. With the vamp's new germ phobia, he hasn't fed in quite some time. When he doesn't feed, he throws off the balance of death, causing the death to walk the earth alongside humans. Not a good thing. Isn't that a cool cover? It fits the hero and heroine to a T. The way the men's shoes are together and laces are just so epitomizes the hero's need for order. And the psychiatrist's free-spirited self matches the toppled red shoes. This is my first book in New Concepts Publishing's Harmony line. The hero and heroine are both Hispanic. That's a departure for me. I'm interested in seeing if this venture works for me. Here'

When it rains, it pours!

First my "baby", Kissing Casanova , is put into print with New Concepts Publishing. Now my second book, Gray's Anatomy , has just been release! And did you all see the great cover for that one? Hubba! Hubba! With that cover model's body and the intimate scene, the cover truly captures the hot romance contained in the pages of that book. Although there is another pro-wrestling theme in this book, it is not a sequel to Kissing Casanova . This one is about a woman who owns a pro-wrestling company and she has to hire a company doctor to keep the company going. Enter the very sexy Dr. Gray Kennebeck. Once he comes into the picture, all bets are off! Another reason this book is special to me is because it has won in some wonderful contests. In 2004 it won the Romance Junkies Contest Junkies contest. I still have the nifty little palm pilot that came with the win. This story was also a finalist in the 2004 Romantic Times "American Title" contest. It made it up to t

I'm in print! I'm in print!

After many months of hoping, begging and pleading, my "baby", Kissing Casanova , has finally made it to print! I'm so thrilled that this work is in a tangible format so that I can actually hold it in my hand. It's such a wonderful feeling to see a book with your name on it, the words, characters and ideas inside of the book are my own. There are no words to describe how massive a feeling this is. With the new format comes a new cover. You all did notice the new cover to the left there, right? Look at my previous blog entry for the previous cover that went to the ebook. It's a nice cover. However, just like you'll always remember your first love. I'll always hold the first cover near and dear to my heart. Thankfully the story is still the same. Click here to read and excerpt or buy the book. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to do my happy dance. Keep reading! Crystal*** http://www.CrystalBrightWriter.com

So much to do! So little time!

Sorry, I didn't mean to stay away so long. I have been swamped but in an absolutely good way. I've been working on edits for Gray's Anatomy for a few weeks now. What my editor is asking me to do will make this story so wonderful. I can't wait for it to come out, which should be around July 7th barring any major problems. And speaking of coming out, did you all notice something nifty on the "Coming Soon" page for print books? Yep, my baby, Kissing Casanova , will be out in print around July 14th! I'm absolutely thrilled that this book will FINALLY be in print and available in bookstores. Since this is my thesis for my M.A. from Seton Hill University, I will, of course, give them a couple of copies for their library. It jus makes sense to give back to the school that helped me write the book in the first place. Other than that, I'll be waiting to do edits for Revamped . Then who knows what I'll do after that. I'm an author on the move, bab

Happy Easter, everyone!

What a great day today! If I was a kid again, I would be so happy that today is Easter. No rain. Lots of eggs to find. Mom's home-cooking. Well, I still have Mom's home-cooking. *LOL* By the way, can anyone explain to me why a rabbit would be hiding eggs? I still don't get that. Still no word from Cheryl Ferguson on whether or not she wants to represent me. I'm hoping she'll say yes. If I don't hear from her before the Romantic Times convention next month, I'm going to stalk her. Cheryl, you have been warned! *LOL* Just kidding. Okay, time to spend time with the family. Hope you all are having a wonderful Easter. Happy reading! Crystal***

I love New Concepts Publishing!

And I'm not just saying that because Kissing Casanova has got the best cover ever and it's now on sale. Well, that might be a part of the reason. :) I also love them because they just contracted my light paranormal multicultural romance, Revamped . The previous title of this novel was 666 Step Program . I changed it because although it's a joke title, I didn't want readers to think I worship the devil or anything...at least not every day! I also didn't want people to be turned off by the title. I do know some people who will do anything they can not to have to write, say or see the numbers 6-6-6 in succession. So I came up with Revamped . The title fits the story anyway. The book is about a vampire with obsessive-compulsive disorder who refuses to feed. When he doesn't feed, it throws off the balance of death. So the vampire would have to change in order to resolve the conflict, hence Revamped . How I came up with the story premise, I was watching back

Air kisses!

It's here! It's here! After nearly 4 years of writing this novel, sweating over it, crying over it, nearly giving up on it, it's finally here! My baby, Kissing Casanova , is on sale now ! I'm so thrilled. It feels like a great validation for so many years of hard work. I believed in my little book about a pro-wrestler and a socialite. Just picture Stone Cold Steve Austin and Nicole Ritchie, just not so scary thin. *LOL* I had a dream about the story. Basically the Casanova character got in my head and wouldn't leave. He kept saying, "You know you want to write about me, right? Come on. Just do it." At first I tried to ignore him, listening to the nay-sayers in the back of my head. "You can't write a book with an entertainer or a sports figure. Readers don't want to see that." But I did it anyway, and now I'm glad. And did you all take a gander at that cover? Hubba, hubba! Eliza Black, the cover artist, did an amazing job o

Covers! Covers! Everywhere!

As you can see from the dazzling image to your left, I just got my cover for my novel, Kissing Casanova ! I'm so thrilled the book is coming out through New Concepts Publishing! And what a cover! Hubba, hubba! The people pictured on the cover look exactly like Soledad Monroe and Casanova, my heroine and hero from the book. Don't you just want to get these two crazy kids even closer so that they can kiss? I just finished up (I hope) the last of the edits. We'll see what happens now. The book is slated to be released this Friday. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that it is! In the meantime, you can read an excerpt on my website, http://www.CrystalBrightWriter.com/ Keep reading! Crystal***

First time blogger, long time reader

Hi y'all! My name is Crystal B. Bright. Yes, that's my real name. No, I don't think my mother was drunk when she birth me. Maybe when she conceived me. But who's ever heard of a 9 month-drunk? Oh, really? Never mind. Anyway, I'm thrilled to have my very first blog as Crystal B. Bright and even more excited about my contracted sale of Kissing Casaonva to New Concepts Publishing! It's been an exciting time for me. I also contracted Gray's Anatomy to Mystique Romance, which is through Ocean's Mist Press. The writing is all going well and I hope for nothing but big things this year. Right now I'm late for work so I got to go! Keep reading! Crystal***
